Position Type: Part-time; Contract (Form 1099)

Salary: Teachers will be paid $125 for each semester a student completes.

Location: Remote

Introduction: Lingua Learning Academy (LLA) is dedicated to individualizing learning for every student through high quality content using multiple curriculums.  As a school serving students not only in the United States, but also worldwide, we value diversity, equity and inclusion.  We are looking for passionate educators who are well versed in their content fields, dedicated to student achievement, and who will embrace innovation, communication, and excellence.

Our mission is to deliver a variety of high-quality and rigorous curriculums that will allow students to customize their online learning experience.  We will offer 2 different online curriculums serving students grades 6-12: APEX and edmentum.  Our online instructors are responsible for creating an educational atmosphere that is student-led and teacher supported.  Teachers will help implement an asynchronous instructional program that results in students achieving academic success, ultimately leading them to a US high school diploma.

Here’s what you’ll do:

-Introduce students to their coursework and communicate course requirements

-Curriculums are all-inclusive. Teachers will be expected to grade student submissions within 72 hours and return communication within 24 hours (not including weekends or major US holidays).

-Provide individualized feedback and motivate student success

-Track student progress and help students stay on pace to meet course deadlines

-Instructors will provide an atmosphere where students feel comfortable taking risks and asking questions when there may be a gap in the curriculum that needs teacher support.

-Contribute to and complete student report cards

-Communicate with parents about the progress of their student within established timelines

-Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and Administration.

-Meet specific course and school-wide student performance goals

-Identify, select, create, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students from various backgrounds, nationalities, learning styles, and special needs.

-Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others

Here’s what we require:

-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

-At least 3 years or more of teaching experience

-Online teaching experience is preferred

-Teaching certification grades 6-12

-Applicants will be subject to a background check

Knowledge, abilities, and skills:

-Strong content and subject matter knowledge

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Organization and time management skills

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

-Ability to maintain a flexible schedule

-Must be self-motivated, accountable, and able to meet established deadlines

-Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision

-Ability to learn and apply all required and recommended LLA computer applications to create efficiency and consistency in internal workflows and instructional practices

– Demonstrated ability to successfully support the LLA core competencies, values, and expectation for student-centered behaviors
